NFL Week 16 Preview: The Mighty Will Fall

The biggest NFL question being thrown around the various betting sites is whether or not the Packers will go for a 16-0 record or if Green Bay will rest players. There is precedence to support both schools of thought. The Colts rested players the last couple of games of the 2009 season and wound up losing the Super Bowl to the Saints. The Patriots played for the 16-0 season in 2007, wound up being perfect and then lost the Super Bowl to the Giants.

According to the price per head bookie experts, the Packers claim that they have a plan to finish the season and it sounds like the Pack will be resting players the last two games of the season. Some people think that the Pack’s second string can win the last two games of the season. Others are not so sure.

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers

By this point, the Packers would have secured home season throughout the NFC playoffs and would have no reason to subject quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the Chicago Bears’ defense. If the Packers follow the plan it has been discussing, the Rodgers will sit in this game and allow backup Matt Flynn to have a start. The Bears will desperately need this game and will have all hands on deck to attack a less than enthusiastic Green Bay team.

This is one instance where the NFL schedule works against the Packers because this is not going to be an easy game. This will be the game that prevents the Packers from going perfect this season.

Pick: Chicago Bears
