| NFL Betting: Using Half and Quarter Bets to Your Advantage |
|
The majority of sport betting enthusiasts will choose to bet the money line or point spreads on NFL games prior to the start of the game. But you can use half and quarter betting to take advantage of tendencies and trends that teams show throughout a game. You place the first half and first quarter bets prior to the beginning of the game, and then you can place the rest of the bets prior to the start of each half and quarter. If you are tracking game results, then this can be an easy way to make money. For example, the price per head sports experts point out that Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning threw for a record 15 fourth quarter touchdowns in 2011. That means that you could place a bet just prior to the start of the fourth quarter of a Giants’ game that would have New York winning the fourth quarter over whomever it is playing. You can watch the flow of the game and determine if you think that Eli will put one or two more touchdowns up on the opposition in the fourth quarter and then make that bet just before the quarter starts. This system can also be helpful when the NFL scores are lopsided going into the fourth quarter. If the winning team starts pulling its starters out of the game in the third quarter, then you can bet on the losing team to at least win the fourth quarter. The game may wind up a blowout, but you would still grab an easy win by betting the losing team’s starters against the winning team’s second string. |
